The Iari Music Vocal Studio is proud to offer group singing classes for the Middle School Aged students of Monticello Academy. This course is taught in-person and on-campus at Monticello’s Lochinvar location by award-winning singer-songwriter and contemporary voice teacher, Iari Melchor. Throughout the 8-session course, students will develop their critical listening skills and public speaking and performance skills, in addition to learning the same contemporary vocal technique used by many of their favorite music artists! This course culminates in an end-of-the-course showcase for their families and friends!

Our Group Voice Class will support you in music and in the classroom.

Each class opens with a 15 - 20 minute guided vocal warm-up that places an emphasis on proper breath management and voice technique. Students sign up at the start of class to perform a song of their choice, and the remainder of the class time is divided equally between the number of singers signed up to perform that day.

Professional feedback and commentary is given to each student by Iari Melchor about their performance, with the intention of constant improvement, and with the intention toward a successful performance at the end-of-the-course Showcase! 

Students will learn to perform on-mic through a professional PA system provided by IMVA, and will be taught the same microphone-techniques used by professional artists. Students sing to an instrumental track they provide.

All songs must be age-appropriate for the singer, and must be pre-approved by Iari Melchor.
