CONSTANT REMINDERS
Made a list of things to do
So I wouldn't think of you
With the pen you used to chew on
Pressed play to switch up the mood
But next up was your favorite tune
Had to fast forward to the next song
Keep trying to distract my mind
But it seems I can't avoid the signs
No matter what I try to do
Chorus:
Our rose-colored love faded away
Like a flower wilting in June
Now all I see surrounding me
Are constant reminders of you
So I pour myself some coffee
Cos mornings really suck
But two sips in it hits me then
I'm drinking from your favorite cup
I've tried seeing someone else
Feels like I'm only foolin' myself
Cos all I do is think of you
Repeat Chorus
Like a flower wilting in June
Now all I see surround me
Are constant reminders of you
Like a flower wilting in June
Are constant reminders of you

LIKE YOU LOVE ME
Yeah
Since we were little kids like maybe 9 or 10
Ridin’ our bikes around the block
You’d been my best friend
Ever since then we been thick as thieves
I’ve been there for you, and you been there for me
I sense a change in the way we are although it could be nothing
Imagination’s running wild I gotta ask you something
All the possibilities
Are you into me
Because it really seems
Hey, hey, yeah
I don’t know
But it sure seems like
Chorus:
Like you love me
The way you flip your hair
Like you love me
Every time I catch you staring
Do you love me
When you stand so close
It’s like you love me
But I don’t really know
This ain’t just hyperbole it’s us I wanna see
And it's something I believe we manifest like destiny
An epiphany
A come to Jesus moment
I own it
And now I wanna know it
Am I reading too deep between the lines
Because the lines are blurry
Or are you giving me signs to take a shot like Stephen Curry
Are you oblivious or do you really mean this
Blinded by your light
Let’s lay it on the line
It’s time
Hey, don’tcha think it’s time
Cos it sure seems like
Repeat Chorus

ON THE RUN (FEATURING SIVIDI)
Chorus:
On the run towards your love
Cos I need it to believe in
Like a drug it's not enough
And my body needs relief
And you are my reason why
I'm on the run towards your love
Cos baby you take me high
I'm on the run again missing your fun again
The moment it's over leaving you is a sobering experience
Feel just like a deviant
And I need a Medium to decipher my words
Because this crash back to Earth is too expedient
It's like the moment we part ways any strength that I felt fades
I need to be reminded cos my memory sucks
I show the symptoms fill my prescription
Cos your love is my drug, fo' real
My darkness needs your light
I fall for you every time
Repeat Chorus
Any where I go, no matter what I do
No place for me to hide
It's fight for flight, it's do or die
You and I have some kind of attraction
When we connect it's so direct
So many chain reactions I get lost
I lose my way inside this feeling
Where seconds become hours
And I lose track of the days
Now I'm reeling feeling weak
I know it's you that I need
Like the air that I breathe
Like the blood that I bleed, fo' real
My darkness needs your light
I fall for you every time
Repeat Chorus
La, la...La, la, la la, la...la la la la, la...
(repeat)
My darkness needs your light
My darkness needs your light...
... cos, baby you take me high!

FIRST THING ON MY WISH LIST
It started last December beneath that diamond sky
With Christmas 'round the corner
Face to face, we met eye to eye
Chorus:
When we were so in love - ooh wee ooh
The first thing on my wishlist was you - ooh wee ooh
And now that things have changed
My life seems rearranged
So all I want for Christmas is you
It started last December through the month of May
In the still of the night we held each other tight
This Christmas I'll be wishing you here again
Repeat Chorus
So all I want for Christmas is you

CAPTAIN INVISIBLE
Well I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve bit my tongue
When you’re standing next to me but your heart is still with him
Cos if I had a dime for all the times you’ve run back into my arms
Cos something he’s said or did
Well, I could buy all of California
Pay with change have some left over
I’d take a trip from one coast to the next, but…
Chorus:
I still don’t know which path I should follow
The road to your heart twists and bends
I could save the world with a cape around my shoulders
Catch lightning in a bottle but you wouldn’t care
I try my best but you never see me there
I’m Captain Invisible
Will I wake up? I’ve been locked inside this dream
I keep running in slow motion you’re always just out of reach
And I wish I could fly
If I had super strength I’d bend your heart to mine
What’s your kryptonite? I can’t read your mind
Keep stumblin’ in the dark
-Repeat Chorus-
Not to be confused with Superman
Call me Captain Invisible
Cos I don’t need X-Ray Vision
Anyone else can see I’m in this love alone
You’ll never feel the same for me
I’ve tried getting over, but I keep falling under
You’ll never see me the way I see you
-Repeat Chorus-

"Music makes you smile. Music makes you believe. Iari IS music." - Wil Rowan, Former Director of the Pacific Art Collective

A little over two years ago, Iari released his debut EP, “The Reclamation Project.” In the 23 years of steering through the music industry, he’s no stranger to the game. Having been part of acapella vocal groups, touring with bands, creating a successful vocal studio, developing singers as well as becoming a sought after songwriter in his south bay city of San Jose. However, he’s just getting started.
Most people may think it sounds crazy to continue dreaming in a time where COVID has reshaped lives and put many in survival mode. Iari, however, saw it as an opportunity to take a deep breath and step back into his first love of writing and creating. At 44, he’s not starting over with a music career, he’s beginning something new.
“Captain Invisible,” beats new life into Iari. It’s an upbeat pop/R&B hybrid singing of the pain of being in a relationship singing “You’ll never see me the way I see you” as Iari displays the melisma technique in his falsetto, giving a soulful run that’s just enough to take us on a melodic ride. It's minimal shimmering piano, backed by stacked harmonies and pulsating synths, makes “Captain Invisible” a solid debut by the bay area artist.
Very much an oxymoron as Iari describes the song as a “superpower but not really a superpower.” In a society that is generated by likes and followers, no one wants to be invisible, in fact, many of us are trying to be seen and heard. It’s retrospective with piercing vulnerability as Iari encapsulates that feeling in the lyrics of this song.
Rooted in funk and soul, Iari’s early inspirations consisted of Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Withers, which musically influenced his 2018 EP, “The Reclamation Project.” Much like the title, Iari’s new pop journey “reclaims parts of ourselves that had been lost." He isn’t late arriving at the pop party. Despite a saturated market, Iari is introducing himself to the world; reminding people that anything is possible and worth pursuing, regardless if we’re in a pandemic. It’s not about the flash, glitz, or glamour, it’s the sheer excitement of seizing opportunity and challenging the process; forging new paths no matter age or timing.
With a cool and quiet demeanor, Iari is taking his rite of passage in the new era of independent artists; releasing singles more frequently. With “Captain Invisible” marking the first song in a slew of singles set for the end of 2020 into 2021, it’s reassuring to know that music still continues on even when the world stops.
